Your rental car cleanliness reassured
With travel picking up again, car rental companies are working diligently to reassure customers that their cars are clean and safe to rent.
Hertz recently introduced their “Gold Standard Clean”, a 15-step process for cleaning and disinfecting car interiors and exteriors that follows CDC guidelines using their “Hertz Total Disinfectant” and sealing each vehicle for protection. According to Hertz President and CEO Kathryn Marinello, “Sealing each vehicle is a first-of-its-kind practice in the car rental industry, and one we believe will give customers added peace of mind knowing they are the only person to enter the vehicle after it’s been thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.”
Both Budget and Avis are implementing enhanced cleaning and disinfecting protocols after each car rental to ensure customer safety, paying special attention to interior touchpoints including seats, steering wheels, and door handles. Additionally, they are cleaning their facilities frequently with recommended sanitizing products while protecting the health of their employees by asking them to stay at home if they are sick and urging them to be vigilant about frequent hand-washing.
Enterprise and National are committed to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness in the industry. They stand behind their “Complete Clean Pledge,” which expands upon their already rigorous cleaning protocols. Employees are now trained to implement new and more comprehensive mandates that include social distancing practices and enhanced cleaning of vehicles, shuttles, and branch locations.
