We are pleased to announce that Chris Pomeroy, Friedman Memorial Airport Manager, was awarded the inaugural Walt Strong, A.A.E., Contract Tower Industry Advocacy award. Chris was awarded this prestigious accolade during the Contract Tower Workshop, June 19-20, 2018, in Washington, D.C.

Chris was nominated for this award by Mr. Larry Krauter, Chief Executive Officer of the Spokane Airports. In his nomination letter, Mr. Krauter stated: “Mr. Pomeroy has distinguished himself in a number of areas that are reflective of Mr. Strong’s legacy of commitment and dedication to the Contract Tower program…”

The Walt Strong, A.A.E., Contract Tower Industry Advocacy award is in honor of retiree, Mr. Strong. He was the airport director in Norman, Okla., recognized for ten years of exemplary service as chair of the USCTA policy board. The purpose of the award is to recognize an airport executive for his or her outstanding work and effort in the promotion and advocacy of the FAA contract tower program — both in Washington as well as in the industry.

Mr. Krauter concluded with, “Mr. Pomeroy’s professionalism, commitment to public service, and advocacy for protecting the Contract Tower Program are commendable and should be emulated by the USCTA membership and worthy of the Walt Strong Contract Tower Industry Advocacy Award.”
