Pilots and planes help hope, spirits soar
It’s no secret. Angels have wings. But in some cases, those wings come with pilots.
For many families, the cost of specialized medical treatment can be daunting. Couple that with transportation costs to get there, and things can become overwhelming.
But thanks to organizations like Angel Flight West and the Corporate Angel Network, families in need can find the airborne lifeline they need—often at no charge.
From their headquarters in Santa Monica, California, Angel Flight West leverages the power of general aviation pilots across the country to transport patients and families to medical appointments and treatment. Smaller aircraft in the network are able to service rural and remote areas. Passengers and family members pay nothing.
Founded in 1981, New York-based Corporate Angel Network partners with corporate aircraft owners and operators to offer empty seats on business aircraft to transport cancer patients to treatment centers nationwide at no charge.
