Notice of Public Outreach for Friedman Memorial Airport Obstruction Removal and Runway Protection Zone Draft Environmental Assessment
Notice of Public information meeting. Blaine County Courthouse Annex Conference Room 4:00p.m. to 5:00p.m. August 8, 2017 (Tuesday)
Friedman Memorial Airport (SUN) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announce that a draft Environmental Assessment (EA) is being prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) of 1969 to analyze the potential environmental impacts of proposed airport land acquisition for Runway Protection Zone protection purposes and obstruction removal at SUN. The federal regulatory agency with jurisdiction over civil aviation is the FAA, which must review and approve all actions on airport property to ensure compatibility with safe airport operations.
At this point of the EA, Alternatives have been developed and are being considered, all of which meet the Purpose and Need of the Project. The public is invited to review and comment on these alternatives. The Draft Alternatives will be available for public review and comment until September 1, 2017.
