Ready for spring break? We’ve got some reminders to help make your trip #SUNsational

🌸 Industry experts say numbers for those traveling for spring break this year are poised to break records–and may even exceed pre-pandemic levels. So, if you’re planning to travel through SUN, be prepared to see a lot more travelers this time of year.

Check current weather conditions as well as the status of your flight before leaving your home or hotel. Most airlines have an app that you can install on your smartphone that makes it easy to get updates on delays and schedule changes. Most smartphones have a built-in weather app, too.

🕑 Arrive at least two hours early to ensure you have enough time to check-in or check baggage or sports equipment, go through security and make it to your gate on time. If you have some time to kill, grab a cup of coffee and relax.

🅿️ Speaking of parking, while SUN has ample parking, seasonal travel surges–like spring break–tend to see lots fill up faster than usual. Arrive early enough to get the spot you want. If you are unable to arrive early–or cutting it close–arrange for alternate transportation to make sure you don’t miss your flight.

💳 Parking at SUN is fully automated, so make sure you have a credit or debit card ready. And don’t misplace your parking receipt! We suggest stashing it in your vehicle’s interior console or somewhere above the sun visor.

🚫 Picking someone up? Do not park curbside in front of the terminal, and then leave your vehicle. Instead, wait in your car, nearby and text your arriving guest. Ask them to collect their checked baggage and wait just inside the door until you pull up. Leaving your parked car curbside creates unnecessary congestion, safety hazards and delays for others.

😤 With more travelers, keeping calm is key. Be prepared for longer waits at security and –please–pack an extra dose of patience. TSA agents and airline customer service folks are doing their best to get you safely to your destination.
